This course invites you into the rich and sweeping narrative of the Old Testament—a story that forms the foundation of the Christian faith and still speaks powerfully into our lives today. Together, we’ll explore its literature, history, and theology, tracing the major themes and moments that shape the biblical story and reveal the character and mission of God.

You'll learn how the Old Testament was written, including the genres, traditions, and historical contexts that shaped its formation. Then we'll dive into the Pentateuch, examining how it all begins—with creation, covenant, calling, and the foundational promises of God. We’ll follow the story through the Exodus, a defining moment of liberation and identity, and into Israel’s history of kings and prophets, where we see both the faithfulness and failures of God’s people unfold. Finally, we’ll consider how the Old Testament points forward to the coming of Christ and how Jesus fulfills and transforms the story that began long before his birth.

Whether you're new to the Old Testament or looking to deepen your understanding, this course will equip you to read Scripture with fresh eyes and connect its ancient wisdom to your faith, calling, and everyday life.
