Rev. Dr. Dennis R. Edwards is currently Senior Research Professor at Northern Seminary. Until recently, Dr. Edwards was Seminary Dean and Vice President for Church Relations at North Park Theological Seminary, after having previously served there as Associate Professor of New Testament. He’s the author of several books and articles, including Humility Illuminated: The Biblical Path Back to Christian Character (IVP). Dennis is married to Susan Steele Edwards and they are the parents of four adult children.
Dennis has nearly four decades of urban pastoral ministry experience, serving in Chicago, IL; Minneapolis, MN; Washington, DC; and Brooklyn, NY. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering (Cornell University); Master of Divinity degree in Urban Ministry (Trinity Evangelical Divinity School); Master of Arts in Biblical Studies (Catholic University of America); and PhD degree in Biblical Studies (Catholic University of America).
Dennis enjoys baking, playing his flute and saxophone, and strength training—as much as his body will let him.
